Public Produce

Lunchtime Forum

This event was originally focused on the author's book, Making Transit Fun!, but has been changed. We apologize for any confusion.

When Public Produce was first released in 2009, the idea that public land could be used creatively to grow fresh food for local citizens was only beginning to gain traction. Now, with the book being re-released and revised things are much different, with produce thriving in plazas and parks across the country. Join the book’s author for a look at what changed and how communities and cities are rethinking and supporting the role of public space. Co-presented by Island Press.
